The photos were submitted by the bride-to-be – Melissa, and the photography by KZN-based Photographer, Adrian Shields and was done at the Point Yacht Club in Durban. Be inspired!

This is the second nautical themed E-shoot that we have featured on lovilee, and gosh, I just loooove them. {Click here to view the first one by Taryn Rahl Photography}.

How we met
We met 5 years ago, Chris had just joined a band, one of which I was quite the fan. We are both generally shy people, so it took a few “gigs” for us to warm up and actually have a conversation. I think we can both agree that when we finally did, we both realized that it was something we should have done much sooner… As time went by, going to the gig’s were more about getting a chance to see Chris and indulge in his ever so charming conversation. He told me that if I’m not going to be his girlfriend, he will never date again… Needless to say, I couldn’t resist, and the rest is history!

The Proposal
Chris proposed to me on January the 7th 2012 at a lodge in Bela-Bela. He took me away for the weekend, and he was very casual about the whole thing, since it was for my “birthday”. The Saturday morning we went for breakfast, but instead he arranged a cute picnic next to the river… If I think about it now I should have know that something was up, but I didn’t and when he popped the question I was very surprised, emotional and excited! It definitely marks one of the best days of my life…

The E-Session itself
We are getting married on the beach and since we will have plenty of “beach” photo’s from our wedding day, we decided to do our shoot at Point Yacht club in Durban. We are from Pretoria so we still had the nautical theme going. We had so much fun with Adrian and Jaimi Shields!
