Introducing: Caramel & Co
Gerda and her daughter, Samuele are the creative team behind Caramel & co. “We love our shop and want more people to know about it”, says Gerda, so we decided to share it with our Lovilee readers!
In Gerda’s words:
I have been in retail for 20 years. From importing gift items, décor and clothing accessories to organising pop-up stores, open days and gift fairs. The next step was to lay a more permanent foundation and to open a shop when the opportunity arose very near to my home. The deal was done and so Caramel & Co was born.
I couldn’t have done it without the help of my daughter Samuele, who was working at Caramel & Co part time while studying in her final year at UCT. Now she is the co-owner of Caramel & Co. Sam’s passion is styling and she’s responsible for the ever-changing gorgeous displays and helping the shop to run smoothly as well as the administration.
Caramel & Co has a great selection of original handpicked décor pieces as well as more affordable items for smaller gifts. It is a small intimate shop jam-packed with lovely homeware, must-have gifts such as candles, clothing accessories, beautiful ceramics, scatter cushions, body products, stationery and a wide selection of ribbon. We also specialize in a lovely exclusive range of baby gifts. It’s a perfect balance of creative local hand-crafted products and imported goods. We also import gifts and linen directly from France and India.
Together, we have transformed Caramel & Co into a shopping haven, and want the customer upon entering to be transported on a magical journey, and to leave with an armful of goodies and a smile on their face.
