We all scream for ice cream!
Ice cream is a sure winner amongst adults as well as kids when summer rolls along. There are some yummy ice cream available, but what happens when you open your fridge and there is only a bit of vanilla flavor left? Or if you have to keep up with different flavor demands? You innovate!
By adding a single ingredient (you should have in the pantry), vanilla ice cream can be transformed into gourmet flavored ice cream and leave everyone screaming for more!
For the real sweet tooth
What sweets do you have? Jelly tots add color as well as crunch when they get real hard when mixed with the ice cream. We served ours in sugar cones and decorated with a flower created from cut jelly tots.
More ’sophisticated-sweet’ can be created by adding chopped nougat or even turkish delight.
My favorite!
I baked waffles a while ago and made this simple, delicious coffee ice cream – everyone wanted more! Add ground coffee (not granules!) to the ice cream and mix well. I used French vanilla ground coffee, it tastes divine!! Served on brandy snaps with maple syrup.
Crush a biscuit or two
Crush your favorite biscuit and mix the crumbs into the ice cream. I love mint romany creams…
There are plenty of other ingredients to add, such as fresh fruit pieces or pulp. Should you not tell, nobody will know you didn’t spend hours labouring in the kitchen!

about the author
If it is different, made with love and contains Italian parsley or rosemary, I love it! I'm inspired by my daughter, born Sept 2010, a good latte served with a pretty piece of cake or even better: a carrot and cream cheese-centered muffin. I live by the motto "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day". May you be inspired to live a lovilee life! -
