Somewhere over the rainbow

We received the following submission from new lovilee Glee Projects. A lovilee party for a little girl, Milla for her 2nd birthday celebration. The idea was to create a Rainbow theme, titled “Somewhere over the rainbow” originally a song from the Wizard of Oz”. Everything tied up into the theme, from the entrance area that welcomed the little ones with a streamer curtain, to the multi-colour buckets used for table seating, to the bunches of Rainbow crayons.

Pots of gold were hidden in the sandpit (well, that’s what you should find at the end of any rainbow) and the kids were allowed to fill their own cones with various colours of smaarties each in their own jar. Eash little guest got to take home an egg container with multi-coloured play dough.

The Rainbow Party printable invitation and full printable party kit are available for purchase from Glee’s Etsy store. The kit includes a Customised Invitation, Candy Bar Labels, Mini Cones, Straw Flags, Bottle Labels, “Cake Time” mini bunting for cake, Thank You Tags, Gifts sign, Paper flowers, Flower cupcake toppers and Food Flags.

Somewhere over the rainbow way up high,
There’s a land that I heard of once in a lullaby.

Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.

Someday I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That’s where you’ll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow. Why then, oh why can’t I?

If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can’t I?
