Couple: Dikeledi & Lusizo
Date of Shoot: 25.09.2012
Shoot Location: Piet Retief, Mpumalanga
Photographer: Loveshots Photography
Inspiration: Vintage, love, light, engagement
Dikeledi & Lusizo recently got engaged and Dikeledi wanted to surprise her fiancé with a couple shoot to celebrate. Loveshots wanted to do an outdoor shoot, because of the wonderful time of year. Spring & love usually goes so well together. The town of Piet Retief, Mpumalanga is surrounded by beautiful plantations and fields and after some wonderful recent rainfall everything was lush & green. Some of the props used included red helium balloons and a chalkboard but overall they were just photographed in the natural surroundings for this vintage e-session.
What the photographer had to say about the shoot…
The couple was really relaxed, even though they haven’t done a similar shoot before. While they were talking, chatting & kissing I moved around them to get the best angles & most interesting compositions. It was really so much fun to photograph them and they made my job quite easy. We started the shoot at around 17:00 and the light was absolutely beautiful; I was able to experiment with some backlighting as well the more traditional side lighting which gave a soft warm glow to their faces. To create the vintage feel I kept things light and the soft pink & beige colour scheme they chose to wear really helped in getting the final product exactly the way I wanted it.
This couple met in Johannesburg and recently moved to Piet Retief, so it was great to get out and show them some of the surrounding environment as well. They are already house hunting in town for the perfect love nest and by the looks of things they are going to be one happy couple. So much love in one photo shoot I have not seen in a while.

about the author
I am a creative at heart, who likes being surrounded by pretty things. My new house was the main inspiration for Lovilee, finding time to prettify, paint and ponder about change. Coffee, lavender, numbers, the color purple and my jeans inspire me. I believe that you should do what you love and love what you do! -
