Natalie Field was recently nominated as brand ambassador for Photon Studio Lighting who are currently running a competition in the PhotoComment magazine. She opted for “The Mad Scientist” theme and the ruins at Everwood Country Weddings provided the perfect scene!
Candace from Absolute Perfection provided the most lovilee décor and flowers, bringing the scene to life.

Themed events are great fun to both organise and attend, providing the host with an opportunity to play with alternate décor ideas while guests experience a wonderful and can dress up accordingly. For The Mad Scientist, Field and Allan brainstormed around natural sciences, and used props like goggles, jars, test-tubes, skulls and vintage microscopes carry across the narrative! Flower arrangements can be placed in jars and test tubes as an alternative to vases, and open light-bulbs hung for ambience in the place fairy lights.

This kind of theme can work well for either day or evening functions as illustrated. As such, guests can dress accordingly with daytime steam-punk inspired garments like the yellow puff sleeve dress by Burgundy Fly or fantasy evening couture by the likes of Immagika Creative Designs. To finish of the look Sarah Gioia from Swoon Hair & Make-Up has provided some ideas.

Then, my favourite scene with the light bulbs!
