Decor & DIY

Have you been to the Second cup at Weltevreden Farm?

I’ve heard many a rumour of a lovilee scrapbooking shop at The Second Cup before I actually years later went to see the place myself. I was under the impression that The Second Cup was a scrapbooking studio with a coffee shop. Much to my surprise I found out that The Second Cup and The Memory Shed – Scrapbook Studio were only two of the many lovilee places to visit at The Weltevreden Farm.

Situated on John Vorster Drive in Weltevreden, the farm boasts various other stores, including a Book Shop, Antiques & Bric-a-brac, Ribbon Embroidery, an Indigenous Nursery & Florist, a Ladies Clothing Boutique, Beautician, Life Coach and a home décor store to name just a few. Photographer, Tracey Kelsey and I paid some of the stores a visit, but you’ll have to make a day of it to actually visit all the little places yourself.

The Second Cup Coffee shop
Now this is a place that knows how to make food look lovilee {and off-course it tastes just as good}! I have been there a few times already for breakfasts and lunch and tea, and almost every meal I ordered was loviliefied with some kind of edible flower, almost to pretty to eat! You keep wanting to turn the plate around to see some other detail.

The Second Cup was started 17 years ago on the farm and has truly kept people coming back and back and back for more. There are chickens that roam the outer area under the trees freely and the setting takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the city, if even just for an hour or two. The also offer a small retail space with lovilee gifting choices.

Two years ago the owners started The Second Cup Deli, which boasts a wine cellar with seating for up to 120 people. Here they host weddings, bithdays, conferences and various other occasions, including music events {with great acoustics!}. On Fridays you are able to visit the deli for a fine dining experience, or get your better half to take you there!

The Memory Shed – Scrapbook Studio
I almost lost it when I finally got to see this lovilee studio! They have scrapbooking goodies stacked to the roof, and two separate sections where classes can be given. A huge couch to relax and so much more.

The shop opened its doors In August 2008 and aims to help preserve special memories in a unique way. For many people it offers a relaxing escape from everyday life and a place to come and create!

The shop is owned by Lisa Myburgh, who also gives all the classes on-site. The classes are kept to a maximum of seven people so that each person receives individual attention and guidance with their scrapbooking projects.

The shop is owner and managed by Hein & Jeanine Richards, a creative husband and wife team that have 16 years of event management experience and 13 years of event styling experience respectively.

Whether you have a corporate event, bespoke wedding or private party to plan, you might want to have a chat to these lovilees first!
