I received this lovilee submission from Colleen from Lieflingkind Design that frequently inspires us lovilees with her free printables! The project was commissioned by Natalie Loots from NYX Photography and I just loved the end result! Natalie shared some more on the shoot and the suppliers involved.
Why the theme?
I had been fascinated by vintage time pieces for a while before deciding on a final theme and being inspired by Alice in Wonderland the whole shoot just started to fit together when I decided on buying two very small rabbits from our local pet shop. From there on everything fell into place with choosing the vintage dresses made by Erika and the gorgeous hand illustrated stationary that Colleen created. I also love gold as a colour for weddings and incorporating it into my styled shoots, everything from soft to rose gold and thus it complemented our theme.
Tell us more about the shoot and the lovilees involved?
We started creating backdrops and décor about three weeks in advance working with a lot of vintage furniture, china and even doing some DIY upholstering.
Colleen and I work together on a lot of projects and this time she absolutely out did herself by hand-illustrating the invitations, menu’s and cake-topper with rabbits and clocks. The rabbit cake-topper was made by using a wooden rabbit cut-out that we painted gold and then put on the cake using a paper straw and double sided tape.
I sourced the cake locally from Baker’s World. As I wanted something minimalist, I asked for the cake to be chocolate with white dirty icing and added the lavender as decoration myself. The flowers were all handpicked wildflowers I arranged into bouqets.
You will notice the amazing designs by Erica Mengouchi but the jewellery supplied by Venita just rounded off everything completely. Her style is fresh and unique (and even note the little rabbits in one of the little girl’s ears)!
