In June this year ST Photography and a hand full of wedding service providers collaborated to hold a social media competition for one lucky engaged couple. The stresses of planning your wedding day can sometimes be a bit overwhelming and they wanted the prize to reflect a true pamper experience for the couple, this included a Styled Engagement Shoot at Freedom Hill Wine Estate with Lisa Brown Make- Up Artist and Bride SideKick with a Bridal Pamper Package to treat them before their big day.
Bridal Pamper Package included a bottle of Freedom Hill Chenin Blanc 2013 and a bottle of Freedom Hill Shiraz Cellar Selection 2010. The Culitvar Guest Lodge sponsored a One Night Luxury stay for the couple that included a hot breakfast & coffee/juice. CK Beauty & Wellness sponsored a Manicure, Pedicure and Reflexology Treatment as well as brow shaping.
Couples had to post an image of themselves via Instagram with the appropriate hashtags as well as confirm their entry with signing in on a Facebook app we had created for this event. The winners were then selected by a vote held between all service providers involved. The vote was unanimous that Torie & Kyle was the winning couple.
The inspiration for the shoot was casual elegance while using flowers as pops of colour to bring some interest into the images. As a team, they decided to keep the styling subtle to focus on the couple and their story. The couple will be tying the knot early next year.
Flower Inspiration:
‘This couple is so gorgeous that I decided to do smaller in the background florals. Pastels with pops of colour are very on trend right now, with garden roses at the front and centre this summer. The idea is to create “props” that make a couple who are otherwise shy in front of the camera, feel less awkward because they have something to hold or carry. Most of these blooms are grown in my garden so they naturally look more wild & “gardeny”.’
Make- Up & Hair:
‘Makeup and hair is very important to include the personality of the client. When I met Torie, she was elegant but casual. I created the makeup to have a natural feel to it, and focus more on the eye liner. The hair was soft natural curls to give more a soft feel to combine with the flowers and dresses.’
