Glitterazzi: Wedding tips + printables

As part of wedding week + by request we give some wedding tips on how to get the looks + provide you with a lovilee printable by Match Set Love.

Tips on how to get great images on your special day {by Melanie Wessels}

  • Consider the light. From a natural light photography point of view it’s the most important ingredient to getting the best photos in my opinion. Whether it’s the room you’re getting ready in, the chapel or the time of day you choose to have your couple photos. Speak to your photographer about this, they should be able to advise you and work with you to put a timeline together.

  • Pretty & Pampered. It’s important to make sure you feel pretty and pampered. On a day like a wedding day, it’s difficult NOT to be happy, excited and to feel pretty. Getting your make-up and hair professionally done is very important for getting gorgeous photos and when you feel pretty, you’ll also feel more confident.

  • Timing. Make sure all your suppliers are on the same page regarding timings your photographer needs to work within. If you’d like to have nice portraits taken of yourself and your bridesmaids, this will ensure that your stylists knows exactly what time you need to be finished to allow enough time for photos before the ceremony. You don’t want things to run late or miss out on getting great portraits.

  • Just be yourself. Don’t worry about how to pose or what to do. Be in the moment and enjoy every second. Your photographer should be able to guide and direct you to get natural looking photos.

We have a special printable for you by Match Set Love that we used in the shoot. The gorgeous ‘Thank You’ cards in both English and Afrikaans.

Here with some more tips…

  • Play around with ideas for your cake and treats and how they will be presented before hand. We tried two options on the cake. The left is used with the ‘love’ cake topper available in the lovilee store and the right with a simple glass dome.

  • Add some DIY details to the day, with tassels and glitter cherries. The tassels tutorial can be found here.

  • Wooden letters are always a hit at weddings. The ones we used are from Typo, but Moi Decor also has some lovilee other options to rent! Be it a ‘LOVE’, ‘CANDY’, ‘mr & Mrs’ or whatever, it is sure to add a special something to your day!

  • Wedding favours need not to be large or elaborate. These fortune faux cookies from Match Set Love are a hit, paired with some cake pops from The Cake Cartel, and you have a match made in Heaven!
