As we head in to the Autumn Season we start to see the beautiful vibrant colours that nature provides at this time, couples are taking advantage of the warm colours and all that nature has to offer and choosing a Woodland wedding theme.

A woodland wedding is exactly how is sounds, whether you bring the outside in or you are lucky enough to marry outside surrounded by the trees and the forest animals it is an idea that is breath-taking and magical.

Floral Woodland Inspiration
The woodland wedding theme is a great opportunity to deviate away from the typical flowers that are found within bridal bouquets and as floral decoration around your venue. Deviating away from the norm is a great way to make your wedding stand out and be memorable to your guests.

There are tons of inspiration for your bridal bouquet but generally woodland wedding flower bouquets are heavily influenced by berries – these are great as they add a pop of colour to the bouquet and when contrasted against brown intertwining twigs, foliage, lavender and other flowers and plants it makes for a stunning bridal bouquet.

Table Décor Inspired By Woodland
Bring the outdoors into your wedding venue with a great selection of woodland inspired table décor. You can get really creative with bark to bring in the outdoor rural vibe and even put a spin on some wedding table decoration classics.

For example, the jam jar is used by almost every bride and decorating them is a favoured DIY wedding task.

You can get thin, flexible pieces of bark and wrap these around the jam jar leaving some of the jar exposed to allow for the light to come through if you are going to place a candle in the centre, or you can do a similar thing with flexible twigs.

Artificial moss is a great flexible material to work with and you can create lots of unique and quirky table centre pieces with it. You can shape the moss into all sorts of different shapes such as love hearts and place them on the centre of a table, maybe on top or arranged near some small tree stumps with the bride and groom’s name carved into them.

Pine cones naturally have lots of gaps in them, perfect for slipping in a name card. This makes pinecones perfect for woodland table place name card holders so your guests know where they are sitting.

The Wedding Cake
For most, distinguishing the woodland theme within your wedding cake can seem like an impossible task, but the key is all in the decoration and presentation. For example, placing the cake on an artificial cake stand is the best place to start.

You can also top your cake with edible or decorative berries as well as edible chocolate twigs and other decorative artificial woodland foliage.

Woodland Inspired Wedding Favours
Let your guests take home of bit of the woodland with some creative wedding favours. Potpourri is a great woodland inspired wedding favour that lets your wedding guests take home the scent of the woodland. Or, why don’t you put together miniature bird’s nests and fill them with Cadbury’s mini eggs for an edible favour that leaves a sweet ending to the big day.

Another idea is to give your guests seeds. The seeds of which are up to you, but a favoured option is seeds that allow your guests to grow their own kitchen garden.

Forest Friends
I love this fun idea of supplying your guests with friend of the forest masks, having fun with the animal masks ensures your wedding photography to be like no other, set yourselves apart from the rest and throw yourself into nature.
