Win with the Daily Dish

Daily Dish is South Africa’s first internet start-up to offer a weekly meal kit delivery service to people who are too busy to shop or just don’t know how cook. I got sent a complimentary box to review and was pleasantly surprised. There is a reason that I have the recipes on the blog outsourced… Cooking is something I am definitely not great at, but my hubby loved the new dishes that came out, well, simply GREAT! What I liked about the box is that it had quite a few ingredients in that I had never before cooked with, like haloumi, spring onion and chillies. Yup, I am that behind when it comes to cooking!

How the meal kits work
Every week Daily Dish delivers four meal kits to your home/place of work. A meal kit comprises exact quantities of top quality, fresh ingredients to cook an amazing mid-week supper – everything from the steak, to the veggies to the spices. All the ingredients come either vacuum packed or in cute little containers with the expiry dates specified on them. You also receive the accompanying recipes with images in the box to keep for future use. There are three menus to choose from: Classic, Low Carb and Vegetarian (for 2 or 4 people). These individual menu’s change week by week.

You can try the service out for a week or leave the subscription to roll until you want to pause it. You control your subscription via a PAUSE button on the website. There is no contract, and you can change menu (or portions) every week too if you like. Take a look at next week’s menu here.

Because everything is super fresh, all orders need to by in by 4pm on a Wednesday to receive your Daily Dish box the following Monday (mine even got delivered on a public holiday). This is the perfect house-warming present and also great when you are going on holiday. No more taking millions of little containers, just take a box and you are off!

I would choose Cajun steak with sweet potato wedges, Lamb sliders and the Gammon steak salad with butternut and cherry tomatoes, only because my husband would love those choices of meats lol I’m not picky

This is fantastic, I always work so late that I don’t ever have time for shopping & the fridge is always empty & end up eating unhealthy foods, the classic menu sounds like my kind of meal.

  7. A break from cooking would be so awesome! Great menu & recipes – the classic menu looks delicious!

First I thought another place just delivering smooshed up dinners then I saw the recipe section and I thought awesome, Ill just steal those.

Reading through one or two I was actually intimidated with the ingredients. As I was sadly disappointed by my brief excitement over cooking I saw YOU ACTUALLY SEND THE INGREDIENTS so I don’t have to do anything but Cook it (the fun part). And for R700?? 4 Meals! I spent an hour trying to see if I did not miss anything. Best life hack ever!

Looking forward to becoming besties with the delivery man / lady! Classic box for the win.
