Maryke & Ivan De Wet tied the knot at the Hertford Country Hotel in Lanseria where photographer Wynand van der Merwe captured their special day. The couple met whilst in university after they went out one eve after the varsity cup and ended up being at the same venue. They got engaged at the V&A waterfront in Cape Town and said their ‘I do’s’ a year later. Most of the inspiration for the decor at the wedding came from Pinterest and they made the programs, menus, table setting boards, welcome ‘dewetpret’ themselves.
Ivan came up to me and asked me if I had false eyelashes. My reply to him being ‘NO’ and started laughing (more like blushing because he was so good looking). He asked me to close my eyes to prove that I had false lashes. I closed my eyes and he kissed me! THe rest was history!
