Tell us more about yourself and your business?
Music has always been a part of my life through different platforms. I have been playing harp for 17 years and it is my biggest passion in life. I commenced my music career at the age of six and have participated in various competitions and music collaborations nationally and internationally through piano, harp and singing. I have done quite a few own compositions and arrangements and love exploring with different genres of music.
Do you do the music full time?
I am actually a qualified professional architect and I am pursuing both careers in music and architecture. Both being very creative, they compliment each other lovely.
Do you perform anywhere other than weddings?
I mostly perform at weddings and corporate functions, but cater for any event. I have also performed at receptions, banquets, birthdays, dinners, launches, funerals and some other customized events by clients.
I am quite an active orchestral harpist and have performed with the South African National Youth Wind Orchestra, South African National Symphony Orchestra, Free State Symphony Orchestra, Stellenbosch University Symphony Orchestra, Stellenbosch Camarata, the Stuttgart Academic Orchestra (Germany), KOMPOS and Cape Philharmonic orchestra. I am also the harpist of the MIAGI Orchestra which regularly represents South Africa in Europe at some of the best music halls and conservatoriums in the world.
I love collaborating with different musicians and offer the option of additional musicians when performing at events (classical guitar / vocal / cello).
What is the most requested song you have to play?
I usually compose a special song myself to each bride in order to make their wedding day super special and unique. But the songs most regularly requested is definitely the classic Bridal March and Ave Maria!
