Pastel blooms wedding

Samantha from www.stphotography.co.za was there to capture Lisa-Ann and Nicholas’ pastel blooms wedding. The celebration took place at Rhebokskloof Wine Estate in Cape Town. The couple met in a cocktail bar and it was pretty much love at first sight. The wedding took around 8 months to plan with the couple being out of the country.

After looking through loads of wedding blogs, magazines and Pinterest we realised we wanted a different wedding from all the traditional themes. We love colour and Lisa loved vintage things so a pastel themed vintage wedding just fit who we are and what we love.

Tell us more about the proposal
Nick’s mom passed away in early 2014 after a 7 year battle with cancer just before Valentine’s Day and so we didn’t celebrate.  Before his mum passed away Nick had shown her some ring designs in secret. Our anniversary was in April and as his mum had always loved the Drakensberg and hiking. He asked if I would like to take a day out in the mountains. The trail he chose was one of the last things we did with his mum before her health failed her. We hiked for about two hours until we reached the waterfalls and Nick laid out a beautiful picnic. He had promised me as an anniversary gift a piece of jewellery but as he hadn’t given it to me in the morning I thought he had forgotten. Once he had set out the picnic he pulled out a rectangular box that looked like a necklace case. Inside were the words ” Will you marry me” and when I looked up he was down on one knee.
