My Home Tour Part 2: A soft tone girl’s nursery

The princess is due to arrive in less than a month, so if you hear and see a little less of me, I might be multi-tasking! Some might remember the post that I did on inspiration for a girl’s nursery that I did before we found out the gender or had the gender reveal party. I ended up going with that exact theme.

All of the decor and colours of the princess’ room was based around the bunny vinyl that I had been eyeing on www.twiggy.co.za for a while, I just needed a valid reason to purchase it! I stuck the vinyl close to the door so that you can immediately see it when you walk into the room.

I knew that I wanted to try and make a triangle quilt (with lots of assistance from my mom) that I saw on the See Kate Sew website. I shopped around for materials and managed to find similar colours to the ones used in the vinyl in sheeting. I also made use of different materials to create a unique look to the quilt.

PrintWild, a local on-line printing store, sponsored some lovilee framed prints for the princess’ room, and I was more than chuffed with the both their quality and the service I received. They have an easy to use website where you upload your images to, select the type of prints / frames / mountings that you want and make payment. You then receive ample feedback throughout the production process via email until the day your prints get delivered. I am so stocked with the result! I purchased the bunny print on Pretty & Printable and a friendy did a hand-lettering print for me for the other one. My mom created the lovilee pom-pom mobile for princess!

I made use of the single bed that I used to sleep on as a girl for the room and used a small kitchen stool as side table. My mom made the duvet cover but the cushions are all from H&M Home. The bunny nightlight was from Superbalist.com, the baby milestone cards and lunch box is from In Good Company, who sadly closed down. I also bought a printers tray from H&M Home and added my husband’s collection of Sylvanian Families to it when he was small. The wall hooks are from Simply Home and the backpack from Cath Kidston UK.

My mom knitted the cute miffy bunny for the princess that is just too adorable! It even has two dresses for the princess to ‘style’ her with when she gets a little bigger.

Another friend gave me this bunny tin from Woolworths and I added a vinyl face.

After these images were taken I added some bunting and a carpet from Airloom to the room. You can see the images on Instagram under @Lovilee_za. Thank you so much to Dominique from Hello Love Photography for the lovilee images! She even took some of the growing belly!

Hello Nat, it was a standard Panache Vinyl Silk colour from Jack’s Paint called ‘Stone Pine’ that we mixed down to 50% to get it lighter. I painted the whole interior of our house in this colour and it is gorgeous with the undiluted Stone Pine for accent walls.
