For the love of Pantone

Celeste of Celeste Cilliers Photography and René of Ophelia Paisley Wedding Studio teamed up for a styled shoot in the Pantone colours of 2016 at Ludwig’s Roses Rose Farm. The colours for this year being rose quartz and serenity. They opted to make use of mostly the rose quartz colour as it is such a beautiful but yet subtle stone. They filled see-through vases to the brim with the stone, which gave such a well rounded look. Rose gold cutlery used to compliment the colour theme.

Blossoms Up was responsible for the floral arrangements. To stick with the soft, romantic and whimsical feel of the colours she chose flowers based on the current trends, incorporating complimenting colors to the arrangements for the table and the hanging arrangement. The serenity was brought in by the beautiful hydrangeas and penny gums, which is a huge trend at the moment and rose quartz, the pink avalanche rose. The hanging arrangement was a wonderful addition to the table setting, creating a dramatic yet elegant feeling.

For the three tier wedding cake was inspired by a gorgeous cake made by Olofson Design. Turquoise Squirrel Patisserie for Ophelia Paisley Wedding Studio brought the dream to life by incorporating the pantone colours and adding white Hydrangea flowers. The cake was covered in white fondant, hand painted with food colouring mixed to watercolour consistency to get that gorgeous washed out effect and for the colours to start blending into each other.

The Polkadot Pencil for Ophelia Paisley Wedding Studio designed the stationary for the shoot. The pantone colours were used as backdrop to the typography. The watercolour theme for the wedding cake was carried through into the design of the cards. To suit that very theme lovely soft and flowy fonts were used, contrasted by clean fonts to create the balance.

Rene from Ophelia Paisley Wedding Studio opted for soft and romantic colours for the models’ make-up and hairstyle to compliment the soft and romantic serenity and rose gold. She predominantly used soft and dirty pinks, bronzes and a touch of gold, and kept the makeup classic and elegant to fit in with the romantic theme of the shoot.

Shene Vyver Couture designed a dress specifically for the shoot. The inspiration was to do something different from the typical wedding dress and give it a more relaxed and unique feel. It was also inspired by recent fashion movements in the wedding industry. She incorporated gold lace and combined it with ivory silk to give it a very soft, modern look and feel that contributes to the overall mood of the photo shoot.
