  1. I’d say the Cape Winelands would be my ideal spot for a romantic getaway!!

    • Kari

O wow, that definitely sounds romantic!

  2. Elizabeth Ferreira

For me this would be a perfect romantic getaway………. I would like to surprise my Love, when he stops on a Friday from work, I would be packed, the car everything, he must just get in the car. He will not know where we are going, until we arrive at the little cabin, up in the mountains near Drakensburg, where we can start a fire and relax with a glass of wine, and snacks, then have a nice long steamy bath with candles, rose petals and essential oils. In the morning get up early and go for a hike, pack some nice goodies for the hike and get a nice spot on top of the hill with a fantastic view, appreciate nature and the “quiet moments’ where no words are needed.

  3. A mountain getaway in winter…accommodation with a fireplace & waking up to frosty mornings before taking walks in the mountains….

    • Kari

That sounds lovilee! Totally my kind of getaway too!

  4. Nikki Pietersen

My idea of a romantic getaway is a secluded beach on the coast of the Eastern Cape. Fresh seafood daily, warm ocean to swim in, and warm evenings to relax outside. Sounds like bliss!

  5. ragmat Baron

The perfect getaway for me is definitely in the mountains, where it is quiet and peaceful and I get to spent quality time with my partner

  6. The seaside where the shore is just a walk away. Where you can hear the sound of the waves and the ocean. Taking a leisurely morning, enjoying brunch without a care in the world. Being able to just relax in that space without having to leave or venture out at all. Being lost in the beauty of surrounding nature and free from the hustle and bustle of daily life. One can only dream!

  7. Samantha Black

I would love to win this incredible prize! I absolutely love the ocean and anything that goes with it. This would be a dream come true for me and my loved one ❤

  8. Take me to the seaside any time – its romantic and soulful!

  9. Jennifer Dupen

My perfect Idea is probably the West Coast somewhere, like Paternoster….I think it is the most beautiful and most romantic places on earth!

  10. My romantic getaway will be somewhere in the bushveld, a place where there is a pool, room service and peaceful nature all around.

I really hope I win this; it was our 10 year wedding anniversary on 10 March and we are saving money to do something in Oct this year. This would be perfect!

  11. A comfortable spot near the sea with not much to do so that you can enjoy the company. No itinerary. Good food and drink. And most importantly, choosing the right person for the getaway!

  12. Tania Brewis

I love a romantic getaway somewhere in the bush. It’s so peaceful and quiet, you can really enjoy each other’s company!

  13. Jackie K

A cosy log cabin, a fireplace and peace and quiet = romance 🙂 there are some stunning places to visit locally, like Clarens or Magaliesburg

  14. Carolyn Augustus

The mountain is perfect for quiet, romantic, peaceful alone time

  15. definately a mountain/forest getaway. Fireplace, snuggly bedding and lots of red wine 🙂

  16. Megan Hartwig

Always the seaside because If one doesn’t live in Cape Town then Cape Town and its surrounds can be the only choice…especially the Cape Bali villa’s ?

  17. My idea of a romantic getaway is a luxury bush lodge

  18. Gaelyn Cokayne

We have always planned beach holidays, but my husband and I recently decided that we needed to experience the romance that the bush has to offer! Snuggling up in front of a roaring fire with a bottle of red wine between us, we listen to the sounds of nature outside a rustic cabin or tented chalet, appeals to our romantic sides in a huge way. Would love to finally experience that with my man!

  19. Roxanne Chutthergoon

A mountain escape in winter would be ideal 🙂

  20. Megan Farrell

My husband and I are both lovers of cold rainy weather! So our ideal getaway would be somewhere in the mountains in either a log cabin or sandstone cottage with a fireplace. Surrounded by trees and grass, with mist separating us from the rest of the world! Each day being a dreamy daze of intimate seclusion. With a crackling fire and coffee brewing on a wood burn oven, spending our days with old-timey board games and good books and perhaps a late morning hike or two <3 We obviously can't wait for winter!

  21. Lynne Morland

A cottage by the sea with beautiful views in the Southern Peninsula, self catering.

  22. Something nostalgic. A Cape Wine Farm perhaps with a picnic under the stars…

  23. Gabie Vermeulen

I would love to take my hubby for a well deserved holiday to KZN south coast, he loves the sea and this would be so welcome to just get away from the day to day tasks, work, cooking, cleaning, just to relax and unwind and to spend special time together

  24. Janel Sunderlall

My perfect getaway would be anywhere. My husband and I haven’t been away for the last 4 years. We have a 2 year old and a 4 year old who keep us really busy and being a stay at home makes me so exhausted. We haven’t had anytime to ourselves so a trip anyhwere for some alone time would be awesome☺

  25. Nichola Woolmer

A perfect romantic getaway would be tucked away in the mountains where we can enjoy each others company and relax with a bottle of champagne in a jacuzzi!

  26. Sharleen

West Coast town Paternoster is my idea of romantic. Nice cosy restaurants and of course the lovely beach walks.

  27. Priya Sewnath

My idea of a romantic getaway is a weekend away by the mountains, the clean countryside air , the silence of the hills , the majestic views and the seclusion all makes you appreciate the one that is next to you. The snuggles in front of a warm fire is sure to ignite the love in your heart that the stresses of life suppresses and the serenity of your surroundings shall soon renew your soul.

  28. Depends on the time of year…at the moment I would definitely choose seaside. Breakfast over looking the ocean, picnics on the beach, frolicking in waves all day, dinner with the sounds of waves crashing…bliss

  29. Lynn Botha

My romantic getaway would be a cottage in the mountains.. a nice fireplace and a Jacuzzi..

  30. Marinda Barnes

This past month has really been tuff on us with obsticals that shaked everything we had in mind. So at this moment in our lives a breakaway from everything would be the perfect way to regroup. Somewhere in the mountains or woods in a cabin curled up under a blanket in front of a fire place with some gluhwein. No cellphone reception and no tv, just me and my Hubby. Recharging. Rethinking life. Re-Dreaming.

  31. Perfect getaway would be Addo Elephant Park with my gorgeous hubby! Always wanted to go there…

  32. I love the Cape winelands. Mountains, beautiful scenery. Absolutely amazing

  33. Kendall Marwick

Our perfect getaway would be to the Bush…anywhere in SA where we can be close to nature, hear lions roar, smell the bush, watch it wake on the early morning…Soul healing????? That would be our perfect honeymoon?

  34. Eden Megan

There’s nothing like a sunset stroll on the beach with a loved one to make you realise how special life is. It’s such an amazing moment to just take in the beauty around you and just enjoy the moment 🙂 ♡

  35. Leanne Alford

  64. Patricia Edwards

The Midlands of KZN in winter is stunning for a beak for Hubby and I

  65. Colleen Trollip

Brendon Fischer and I have an epic romantic road trip planned, and winning this would help a great deal. A 3 week road trip from Durban to the Western Cape stopping an random sites along the way. No set time frame, no set sites. Just get in our car and drive. Packed with the basics and our fishing rods, we plan to meander our way down to Riviersonderene, WC where we will base with my brother and travel out from there seeing sites and exploring what the Western Cape sea waters have for us to catch. We don’t yearn for 5 star luxury, just the basics and a few camp sites or backpackers. This will be the ultimate romantic adventure for us.

  66. We live a short drive from the mountains and yet we have never ventured there. We are like swallow who seek the warmer areas like the coast or bushveld… beacause the eastern freestate are known for it’s cold winters. A mountain get-away might be exactly the break we need….warm fireplace, cosy couches, wine, cheeseplatter, mountainviews and waterfalls. Imagine.

  67. Mmm… For me, a romantic weekend away on the Natal Coast will be just PERFECT. I’m thinking The Oyster Box Hotel for one night with my main man. With a little (almost) four-year old in the house, romantic holidays are something long forgotten. Our 10 year anniversary is coming up in Jan 2018, so this will be the perfect early anniversary gift!

For me a beach getaway for two far from the madding cries of children, nagging bosses and the city life sounds dreamy. My idea of a romantic weekend would be to a secluded beach house in Misty Cliffs in the Cape. What could be more surreal than watching the sun set over the azure blue sea whilst sipping on red wine with your lover? Or talking long walks holding hands, whilst being serenaded by the twinkling stars. A private beach picnic for two with seafood on the menu would tantalize the tastebuds indeed. It’s amazing how a simple getaway for two in a beautiful setting could help revive a relationship. Simply gazing into his or her eyes and feeling as if the both of you only exist… wow that would be surreal! So please Lovilee, my partner of 15 years & I are approaching a milestone celebration in our relationship… to be able to have a getaway like this would be the ideal way for us to rekindle & celebrate our love story! Please do wave that magical wand?

My idea of the perfect romantic getaway would definitely have to be my upcoming honeymoon in September this year in Cape Town 🙂 Due to our hectic budget constraints we are remaining local and the 2 week trip has been planned solely by my fiance Maritz 🙂 This would be an amazing prize to help us make our honeymoon just that more adventurous and special xx

  75. Anita Dingwayo

Sounds lovely, as April marks a very important time in my house because its mine and Hubb’s birthday, funny enough its on the same day. we don’t usually do anything special for only the two of us but this would the perfect way to get closer and remind ourselves why we fell in love with one another. 86. My boyfriend and I drove from KZN through the Karoo to Cape Town. A road trip might not sound romantic but what could be more romantic than a trip filled with beautiful landscapes, stunning sunsets, long talks, the cutest cottages in quaint towns, great wine and delicious karoo lamb. Our next road trip will be along the West Coast and possibly crossing over into Namibia. I can’t wait for more beautiful landscapes and seacapes, seaside cottages, fresh seafood and sitting in the passenger seat next to my favourite person.

  87. Anusha Naidoo

My idea of a romantic getaway is Drakensberg , the fresh country air, the serenity , beauty of nature, my sweetheart and I going on adventures from hiking trails to swimming in the lake , pampering spa treatments, horse riding at sunset , kisses in the moonlight with the back drop of the mountains , escape from city life …to a place where we can have rest , relaxation, lots of happiness and laughter, memories made to treasure ❤

  88. Anywhere with a great view of the ocean with a deck to enjoy it.

  89. Ibtisaam

A romantic getaway to me would be ANYWHERE as long as I had my hubs by my side. Very cheesy and cliche but so true in my case. We’ve been married just over 2 years and endured the toughest times financially during the time. Weve never been on honeymoon or to any fancy place yet. He does however make our stay ins at home pretty special when need be. But I could imagine us being swept off to a lovely drive through the garden route. A house in the bush, not too far in as I’ll be too freaked out lol, right by the lake. An open sky where we could dream the perfect dreams. Can there be hotel breakfasts? I heard they pretty good. I’d like that. A bubble bath with rose petals and candles as apposed to a quick 5 minute shower we usually take. I can picture it all. I can picture us having the perfect getaway.

  90. Nicolette Nunes

Somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of the City life. Definitely a mountain escape
