So last night whilst doing a million things, I received a mail with a totally lovilee Weylandts initiative. I posted an article on my favourite finds in store at the moment and more about this company that has a heart for design and sustainability. You have to read this for yourself. If you feel like doing something for someone this might just be it!

What touched me is that Weylandts is sticking to what they are great at, quality furniture and spreading the love to people who can really benefit from their products at the moment.

*Note that Weylandts did not ask me to re-post or endorse this in any way, but I feel that it is really an awesome project to get involved with.

‘Having a store on Thesen Island, we at Weylandts feel especially close to the tragedy of the recent fires in Knysna. Although the immediate crisis is now over, many of the victims do not have insurance and will need to replace all the possessions they have lost. We would like to help by manufacturing furniture to make these people feel at home again as quickly as possible.

To this end, we will be manufacturing 100 beds and mattresses that we’ll deliver once the houses have been rebuilt.

We would like to supplement this effort with your generosity in donating any furniture or household appliances before 30 July 2017. These could be couches, chairs, beds, stools, fridges, washing machines, tumble dryers, microwave ovens, or even toasters or kettles.

If you would like to donate, please drop the item off at any of our stores. We will then transport it to our Distribution Centre in Epping, and deliver to Knysna Rotary to distribute amongst the community. If you are unable to transport large items to us, we’ll also gladly collect from your home.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Drop off furniture and appliances here.’
