I am a HUGE Pure Sweet Joy fan, the lovilee Deborah’s blog is just a gem filled with DIY tutorials, free printables and more. Now she has launched her own online store filled with pretty decor and gifts for kids!
Tell us more about yourself
I grew up in Cape Town in a relatively creative family. While I am no artist, I always enjoyed crafting, creating things and trying to save money by making things myself. During a long university holiday in 2011, I finally decided to start a blog to document my crafts and so Pure Sweet Joy was born. The blog has changed and grown with me, but ultimately my heart behind it is that I believe that EVERYONE is creative. Being creative is about using your brain creatively, in your own way. For some (not me) that is painting, but for others it may be making things with their hands, taking photographs, cooking or even being creative in their business plans or how they play with their kids. Maybe you still need to find your own version of creative, but it’s there and I love to help people explore it.
How did your on-line store come about?
After having my precious baby girl in June I finally had the chance to open up Pure Sweet Joy // The Shop. The shop has opened with a range of handmade toys, decor and practical items. While they’re designed with children in mind, there’s no reason they can’t be for adults too 🙂 It’s always been a dream of mine to create employment. So, while it’s just me for now, I will be working hard behind the scenes to get Pure Sweet Joy to a place where it can enrich the lives of others and be able to build up the communities around me.
What products can you expect to see in the store?
The Pure Sweet Joy store has some really pretty and shiny cake toppers, pacifier clips, teethers, totally cute wooden push toys, shelf decor and wall flags. There is also a seriously awesome rocking horse (Made by her dad exclusively for the store!).
