Someone asked me how long lovilee has been around a while ago and I could not believe that 2017 would be my seventh year (this year will also be my seventh wedding anniversary). I started in March 2010. In return they said that they heard that your seventh year is the one where all your hard work would start bearing fruit. This was an interesting comment as I have really seen an uptick in my web traffic, social media following and finally the income that I make from lovilee.

Maybe it just took me seven years to find my niche (yup I have made loads of mistakes), but I am so excited to be looking forward to what this year will bring!

I thought that I wanted to dedicate this post to remind me how far I have come and that all the hard work was worth it. Off course it is thanks to all my lovilee readers that I am able to do what I do, and to my family that allows and support me in following my dreams.

In my personal life these past 7 years have been an amazing journey and adventure. I got married, moved house (twice) and had two lovilee kiddies. I started and am also running an international Creative Challenge previously run by Michelle from Elegance & Enchantment in the US. I still work part-time in corporate twice a week and do plenty of DIY’ing in and around my home… But back to lovilee…

Some of the lovilee clients that I have worked with on articles in the past that I am really proud of include (note that they are in no particular order)

My proudest moment on the blog would have to be being awarded Best Lifestyle Blogger in the Africa Blogger Awards in 2015. I also received some blog awards and have been featured in awesome magazines and blogs that made me really proud. You can read all about them here.

  1. Well done on all your hardwork Kari. I’ve enjoyed visiting your website these past few months but had somehow missed your ‘blogging 101’ posts…such a treat for me (!) as I’m in the process of setting up my own blog and it’s great to see a thriving SA blogger 🙂 Looking forward to more!
