Wayne (a software engineer) and Suzanne (a program implementation consultant) opted for a farm-feel couple shoot with L’Afrique Photography taking the images. The couple met at a charity event for an after-school center supported by their church. They spent the day helping out at the center and doing fun activities with the kids. After that day the ‘good kind of stalkin’ happened. Four years later the couple got engaged in the Drakensberg.

Tips for nailing your engagement photos

1. Wear clothes and shoes that you are comfortable in
There is nothing worse than trying to look comfortable and relaxed for your images but having clothes or shoes that irritate you! Wear something that makes you feel totally gorgeous but that you can also feel relaxed in and that fits the surroundings of the shoot. No use wearing stilettos missioning around the veld or through a river.

I just love Suzanne’s flowy skirt that she chose for her engagement shoot.

2. Consider getting your hair done professionally beforehand as well as professional make-up
Make a day out of the shoot, by organising to get your hair and make-up done by someone else can take a lot of the stress and pressure away from you. Looking your best for the images and your partner is just some of what can make the day even more special. Suzanne made use of Maryke from Maryke Verster Makeup Artistry and Thelma from Snipidy Snip for her makeup and hair. “Both ladies were so professional, making me feel at ease and making me laugh.”
