Nadia & David tied the knot on 23 March 2013 at Nantes Estate in Paarl. They were photographed by Christelle Rall Photography. They did all the planning themselves and decided on a vintage theme with Pastel colours lilacs, soft pinks, creams with a hint of burgundy. They wanted their wedding to have a unique signature adding a lot of detail and lace, especially lilac. They also made use of the bird and hearts theme, which really completed everything and after all the input and efforts for almost a whole year, their Wedding Day was the Most Perfect Day ever!!
About the bride:
Nadia is 25 years old (turning 26 this year). I am from Cape Town and was born here. I am a Professional Make-up Artist and Hairstylist that freelances in the Bridal Industry and have been in the industry for almost 8 years. I have been in retail for about 7 years (worked for companies PMU and MAC Cosmetics) and been freelancing for the last year and a half and it is my passion to work with other Brides.
Why did you choose David?
I chose David to be my husband not only because I love him so very much, but also because of how much he cares for me and about me and everything he does for me, he goes the extra mile for me. He knows how to make me feel special. He also have a great sense of humor – he always know how to make me laugh.
Your love story {as told by the bride}:
After our first date I just knew he was The One for me from the start. We went on another date.. and another.. Every date was so much fun and I was always looking forward to seeing and being around him. After 1 year and 5 months of dating, he proposed to me to the most beautiful setting ever and 11 months after that I finally got married to my best friend and being married to him is the best thing that could have ever happened to me.
About the Groom:
David is 30 years old, also from Cape Town and was born here. I am a sales rep and enjoys being an estate agent part-time. I met the girl of my dreams and says he smiles just thinking about her.
Why did you choose Nadia?
It was a no-brainer.. She fullfills me in every way. She is beautiful, sexy and has a great personality. She makes me complete and happy to the max!
Your love story {as told by the groom}:
I noticed her once at work. I decided to ask her out for drinks one eve and we have never looked back since. Best decision I’ve ever made asking her for a drink.
How did you meet?
The first time we’ve made contact with each other was on Facebook. One day I got a friend request from him. I was working at MAC Cosmetics at the time and one of my friends (that was working with me at the time) he was also very good friends with, mentioned him to me and said that he really liked me. So when I got his request on Facebook I immediately knew who he was and after a few messages to each other, we went on a date that same week, and another date and another.. This was when we both realized we wanted to be together from now until forever.
The wedding proposal:
David wanted to go away for the weekend so asked me to book a place for the two of us in Hermanus. I had no idea of what he was planning so was looking forward to spending the weekend away with him. This was the beginning of May 2012. As we arrived in Hermanus, we went for cocktails and just before sunset, we went for a drive. He took me to one of the beaches and we walked down the stairs to the bottom until we were walking on the sand. While looking at the beautiful sunset happening right in front of us, he turned to me, told me that he loves me very much and right there infront of me went on his knees, pulled out the box with ring from his pocket and asked me to marry him! This was such a beautiful moment in such a beautiful setting that left me speechless for a few seconds until I could finally get the “YES!!” out.
Brief description of the day {as told by the bride}:
I booked into our venue, Nantes Estate, early the morning with my bridesmaids and mom and mom to be. Bride-to-be was at first running around making sure every little detail is in place before started getting ready for our big special day that’s finally arrived! After my hair was done, I applied my own make-up and left enough time for this so was not feeling rushed at all. Videographer and Photographer arrived to take my pictures and had so much fun! This was when it started to feel like reality and in 15minutes I was about to marry my best friend. I couldn’t wait to see David. This day really went by so quickly, as you have a full program of activities and fun for the rest of the night, but we for sure took in every moment as much as we could from the start till the end. This day started and ended in perfection. Everything about our wedding day was perfect! Most definitely the BEST day of our lives!
Brief description of the day {as told by the groom}:
I woke up nervous as hell but knew it was the most important (NB) day of our lives. Got to the venue with butterflies in my stomach, but when I saw her I was in heaven – she looked amazing!! Had a great day with Nadia and loved ones. A perfect day.
Most memorable moments of the wedding day? {as told by the bride}
The most memorable moment of our wedding day would definitely have been the moment I came walking down the isle and saw David and the WOW expression on his face when he saw his bride walking towards him. Such a beautiful moment to experience, seeing your husband-to-be waiting for you there by the alter. Then I would also say our first dance together on special song 1000 years from Christina Perri and also David’s speech, beautiful touching words that brought happy tears to my eyes.
Most memorable moments of the wedding day? {as told by the groom}
The most memorable moment to me was when I saw her walk down the aisle to me and saying “i do”. I really also loved the photo shoot, our first dance and speeches went smoothly – very memorable. Everything was perfect from start to finish.
