Introducing Notation Design

Some of you will remember MJ from Gin & Tee, a bespoke jewellery designer whose lovilee items we have featured as part of several of our shoots. This lovilee lady with the assistance of two of her friends, Jenny and Estian, launched a company called Notation Design in mid 2015. The products and brand has been well received and has appeared in various publications locally.

Notation designs, and creates furniture and decor from scratch. They also complete entire interior spaces, from conceptualizing to installing the fittings. Their products are made from concrete, metal and wood. They also do custom design for any space a client might need.

Notation symbolises the small details and elements you often overlook that form an integral part in the bigger picture, and this is personified in our design and object creation perfectly.

Their concrete products are high quality and most of them are light-weight. The first time I picked one of their bowls, I literally almost dropped it, surprised that something that looks so heavy could be so light. They did research on how to get concrete to be more light-weight without compromising on looks and finally found a secret additive that did the trick.

One of their most popular products are the jewellery cushions foiled in various colours. The perfect addition to any dresser and a pretty gift for someone you love. The rest of their product line includes planters, candle holders, prints and bowls.

I hope to get my hands on some of their pendants as soon as we start the kitchen revamp!
