Minimalist wedding inspiration ♡ that shows how less is more

The go to word these days are ‘minimalism’, this shoot was the perfect fit to show some minimalist wedding inspiration. Less can truly be more when it comes to wedding and the earthtone wedding palette used in this shoot is totally swoonworthy. Earlier this month I shared five tips on How to bring the minimalism trend into your wedding – this shoot covers it all. I could not be more chuffed with Michelle du Toit Photography for this submission of this minimalist shoot conceptualised by Kadou.

Minimalist wedding decoration and palette

The lovilees over at Kadou was responsible for the flowers, decor and styling. They wanted to create something monotone but still warm and inviting. The off white linen (from The Tablecloth Hiring Company), raw wood tables and textured walls all created a space that feels uninterrupted, a pause in this busy world, inviting you to breathe again. Warm garden roses and sleek gold & white crockery and cutlery kept the table scape beautifully elegant without disturbing the simplistic nature of the combined elements.

The chairs, crockery and cutlery was from Two Birds @ The Dairy Shed and was also the backdrop to this wedding inspiration shoot.

‘Yeah, we want your wedding dress to tell the story of you…a little off-beat, a little quirky, a little bit princess. Whatever that might be. We love what we do, we love doing it with pride. When deciding on dresses to give for this shoot, we simply couldn’t pick one, as all the pieces from our Leilah James range (ready-to-wear range launched 2017) is focused on ‘basic’, simplistic pieces that allow the bride to make her own combination in which she’s comfortable yet is unyielding to trends.’

Minimalist wedding bridal look

Marnel Toerien make-up and hair professional doesn’t throw around words like ‘fabulous’ or ‘chic’… no, this makeup artist doesn’t believe in pompous fads or fly-by-night trends. She likes nice people, loud laughs and dogs. Concerning her work, she loves good-looking makeup; dark lips and glowy skin are amogst her favourite which is why she said yes before she even finished reading the email for the shoot! Returning to a basic & clean backdrop challenges a makeup artist to make the model’s features ‘pop’ without overpowering her face and theme.
