Ina, pronounced ‘Ainah’, was named after her grandmother, a unique name for a unique lady and the lovilee behind Plan Me Pretty. An on-line directory to help connect people in Pretoria and Johannesburg to special occasion venues and related services.
In short, Plan Me Pretty is an online directory where anyone can come to source venues, products, service providers and ideas to make planning their special events quicker and easier. These events include baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays, product launches, christenings and high teas.
Tell us a bit more about who you are and how you started Plan Me Pretty?
After school I did my Hotel Management Degree at TUKS, followed by an Honors degree specialising in Marketing. After my studies, I worked in the hospitality sector and I noticed two things:
- When people call to book a venue for a special occasion, and it is fully booked, they have no idea where else to start looking.
- I am the person that receives the phone calls when friends and family are hosting parties and are in need of finding a new and pretty venue, coffee shop or restaurant to host their next celebration at.
I decided to create a platform, where I could build a directory, both user-friendly and easy to master. My ultimate dream is that eventually every pretty function venue in Pretoria and Johannesburg will be listed on my site.
What inspires you?
Other creatives! Sometimes I am just astounded by the creativity of other entrepreneurs in South Africa. And it never stops; there is always someone with a new and fresh idea. This motivates me and I work even harder to make my dream a success.
Positive feedback from the businesses that list with me and numerous thank you’s from people who use the site give me my daily inspiration to keep going and push through.
And a great cup of coffee in a pretty shop can make me dream up all kinds of wonderful things.
What do you do when you are not behind your computer?
I occasionally also plan and style smaller events such as baby showers, bridal showers, christenings and special birthdays.
