This & That

Love on Church Square {Kikitography}

Janka and Marnus had some lovilee pics taken for their e-session photoshoot by Kikitography at Church Square in Pretoria. The boxes that they used gave such character to the images and shows what a fun couple this is! The lovilee couple will tie the knot on 8 Februarie 2014 at Rosemary Hill, Pretoria.

How did you meet?
We met through friends who organised for us to meet on a blind date. They reckoned we would be a match made in heaven and even though we were both sceptical at first, I guess they were right! Magnus had just finished his studies and had started work in Pretoria, our friends could not wait for us to meet. They organised the date for the evening of his first work day. I played hard to get, but all he needed was my telephone number… Three months later we were dating!

How did he pop the question?
Long before the actual date, Magnus arranged ‘a weekend away with friends’ for us. On the day Magnus proceeded to take me shopping before leaving for the weekend break. I was totally oblivious to the fact that we were actually on our way to a romantic picnic next to the Crocodile River, at a place called Letaba Lodge. When we arrived, we were welcomed by the staff and escorted to a picnic spot among the willows. At this stage I began to suspect something, but tried to stay calm. I mentioned one day that if Magnus bought Kanonkop wine, I would know that he would be popping the question and low and behold… On the table was a bottle of Kanonkop wine!

Just then he went down on one knee and asked me to marry him! He also wrote a story of our past together with each chapter’s theme being a song that he chose with care.

What is the most enjoyable part to date of planning your wedding?
To be able to turn your dreams into reality. To see all the pieces coming together. It is an opportunity to show your identity and portray your emotions for each other.

Do you have any advice to share with other brides-to-be?
It’s never too early to start, what’s done is done. If you have a “to do” list tick off the completed tasks and add more to do’s on the same list – otherwise it will just cause confusion. make sure that you book your venue and photographer as soon as possible.

Are you planning any DIY project for the wedding?
We are still busy with it, but chalkboard plates that we plan to paint with paint we mix ourselves using acrylic paint and grout. We will then be able to choose and create any colour of our choice. We are also busy folding origami birds {Have over 300 already} that we plan to hang all over the venue.
