Q+A with Laura from Ginger Ray

Ginger Ray is a brand that I have seen stocked in so many party shops, I never realised that this company half-originated in South Africa! Their products are really good quality and the themes of the party accessories can be used for many a different event. I chatted with Laura Munro, part-owner of this lovilee brand:

Q: How was Ginger Ray born?
Ginger Ray UK and Ginger Ray South Africa were launched at the same time. Ginger Ray UK is owned and run by our business partner and good friend Ben Spence. Ben and I started exploring the idea of building a party décor brand together back in 2012. South Africa really lacked any good quality party or wedding products and those you did find were hugely expensive. We wanted to create an original party brand with unique high quality products grouped into ranges that would allow anyone to throw an impressive party for a reasonable price. We had great fun coming up with the name and the concepts for our first ranges. A year and a half later we have nearly 300 products and 12 beautiful themed ranges, that are ever expanding. We love what we do!

Q: What products do you sell?
We sell everything from paper plates to bunting and cake stands! All you need to create your own themed party with original and fun goodies that add to your décor and ultimately to your guests enjoyment! From baby showers, first birthdays, birthday parties for kids and adults, engagement parties and tea parties. We also have a large number of specialized wedding venue and reception décor goodies that fit with almost any theme or colour scheme.

Q: How often do you bring out new themes?
We aim to launch at least five new ranges a year. We’ve just launched two new ones, the Princess Party and Patchwork Owl and have another four due for launch around August including a new Christmas range. We can’t wait!

Q: Which are the current best sellers or your favourites in store?
Our Vintage Affair and Vintage Lace ranges are hugely popular amongst those set to get betrothed. In fact, I used a lot of it at my own wedding in December including the Mr & Mrs sign, the Bird Cage, paper straws, Just Married bunting, wedding wands, table pearls, photo prop kits, confetti and more.

Personally, I love the new kids ranges Patchwork Owl and Princess Party. I can just imagine delighted little princess faces when presented with our princess cake stand in the shape of a carriage stuffed with princess cupcakes! We even have paper straws with princess carriages pulled by white horse galloping around the edge. The Patchwork Owl range is a quirky on trend baby shower or first birthday range and the whole range just makes me smile with its cute owls and soft colours.

Q: How can lovilees get their hands on your lovilee products?
You can find our products at various party stores, but the easiest might be to purchase it directly from our on-line store. The store is easy to navigate and divided into two main categories namely weddings and parties. From there on you can browse at leisure through the various theme options that we stock.

Q: How can lovilees get in contact?
