Fathers Day Grinders gift set and spice mix recipes

I never know what to get my dad, so this year, Lauren Kim came up with a Fathers Day Grinders gift set and spice mix recipes. This Father’s Day spice gift box contains some seasoned salt and a few other spice mixes might just be what your dad needs. I packaged my dad’s in a nice box with handle that I purchased on-line from Merrypak. Why not add these extra long matches (available in a host of colours) perfect to use for a braai from Loveletters Stationary?

When is Fathers Day?

It is celebrated in the US, South Africa, and the UK usually on the third Sunday in June, and in Australia, the first Sunday in September.

I added some sticker vinyls to the spice mix bottles that you can purchase from me directly kari@lovilee.co.za, available in black and white sets. They can also be customised for your own mixes. The empty grinders and lids are available in sets of 24 from Consol Glass in either Woodmead or Sandton.

The basic idea for all of these recipes are to mix the dry ingredients together. You might have to grind some of them a bit finer and then add them to the bottles.

Braai Spice Mix Recipe

Ingredients

• 1 tbsp salt
• 1 tbsp pepper
• 1 tbsp paprika
• 1 tbsp garlic powder
• 1 tbsp coriander
• 2 tbsp cayenne pepper
• 2 tbsp cumin
• 2 tbsp cloves
• 2 tbsp nutmeg
• 2 tbsp all spice

Taco seasoning mix recipe

Ingredients

• 4 tsp onion powder
• 1 tsp sugar
• 2 tsp cumin
• 2 tsp oregano
• 2 tbsp chilli
• 2 tsp garlic powder
• 2 tsp paprika
• 1/2 tsp salt

Bacon Seasoned Salt recipe

Ingredients

• 3 bacon slices finely chopped and dried after cooking
• 1 tsp salt

Italian Spice Recipe

Ingredients

• 3 tbsp parsley
• 1 tbsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp onion powder
• 2 1/2 tbsp oregano
• 1 tsp thyme
• 3 tbsp basil
• 1 tsp rosemary
• 1/4 tsp black pepper
• 1/4 tsp chilli

Sugar and Spice Recipe

• 5 tbsp coffee beans
• 4 cinnamon sticks
• 4 tbsp Cacao nibs
• 2 tbsp sea salt
• 2 tbsp raw sugar

Ice Cream Spice Recipe

• Peanut Brittle
• Dried Bananas
