Today we share a Malva Pudding Recipe with you, perfect for spoiling mom with on Mother’s Day! For styling and serving we used some gorgeous products from Little Honeypot’s on-line store that is sure to bring a smile on mom’s face!

Malva Pudding Recipe

Malva pudding is a sweet pudding of Cape Dutch origin. It contains apricot jam and has a spongy caramelized texture. A cream sauce is often poured over it while it is hot, and it is usually served hot with custard and/or ice-cream. {source}

Malva Pudding Recipe

Cake Ingredients

  • 1 Cup of Flour
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 Tablespoon Melted Butter
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 1 Tablespoons of Apricot Jam
  • 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice


  1. Preheat the oven to 180C.
  2. Grease a baking dish.
  3. Combine Sugar, egg, butter and jam and whisk until pale and fluffy.
  4. Whisk in the milk and lemon juice.
  5. Fold in the flour and bicarb of Soda.
  6. Pour into a dish and bake for 25 minutes.

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 Cup of Cream
  • 1 Cup of Butter
  • 1 Cup of Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup of Water


  1. Combine all ingredients in a pot over moderate heat until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Boil for 3 minutes.
  3. Pour over the HOT cake.
