Review: Healing Earth Natural Cosmetics

I recently received a few of Healing Earth Natural Cosmetics’ spa body products for review. The products sent for review were two body polishes, the African Potato body and face balm as well as a body and bath oil.

Healing Earth is a premium African spa brand that offers organic and natural cosmetics products, therapies and spa concepts to discerning clients the world over. All of their products are made from natural active ingredients sourced from the Africa continent’s powerful minerals, oceans, flowers, herbs, fruit, seeds and natural oils. All Healing Earth products are free from synthetic fragrances, colourants, petro chemicals, DEA, preservatives and parabens.

Body Polishes
The body polishes are essentially body scrubs, each of which is targeted to increase skin circulation, remove dead skin cells and nourish dry skin. The wide choice of options includes Kalahari Melon for hydration, African Ginger for sculpting, Coffee, Cinnamon and Orange for cellulite reduction, and Mongongo Nut for detoxification.

I really, really liked the smell of the Coffee, Cinnamon and Orange (which is strange as I normally stay very far away from cinnamon fragranced products, but the coffee had me on this one!). The consistency of the polishes are great. It does leave ‘scratches’ all over rather provides the desired ‘polishing’.

Indigenous African Body & Bath Oils
Their body oils are designed to hydrate, nourish, detox, sculpt and soften the skin, as well as to relax the mind. Using innovative blends of aromatherapy with powerful base oils, these versatile body blends can be used in a variety of ways – as bath oils, body oils, or massage oils.

I received a Coffee, cinnamon and orange oil to try out. The bottle label suggests either application on your body or that you use it as a bath oil. I tried it as a body oil at first, but I think I am just too impatient. The bottle comes with an anti-spill insert that allows you to drip the amount that you want to use, so I preferred using it as a bath oil, no need for moisturiser then after bath time. No need to add creams after using this one, and best of all is that your skin doesn’t end up sticky or oily, just moisturised properly after use!

African Potato Body & Face Balm
This was quite an interesting product, I initially opened the bottle and thinking it would be a cream, but it was more compact. Almost like a lip-balm consistency. I then visited the Healing Earth website and saw that it could be used to assist in wound healing, for eczema, psoriasis, chapped lips, skin allergies or any sensitised skin condition. It is the ultimate SOS balm for healing and reparation.

I was chuffed. I have a super sensitive skin and get frequent reactions on my hands from using detergents and working in the garden without gloves, so I started using this balm. It seemed to almost immediately relieve the itchiness on my hands and reduce the redness. What I liked most is the smell!

Overall opinion
I like the range. The packaging is professional and I think the product of high quality. I would probably want to get my hands on more of the body polishes when mine is depleted.

The Healing Earth on-line store is set to launch soon, but if you’d like to get your hands on some of these products for personal use or as gifts you can contact any of the following stockists.
