Introducing Sunkissed Handmade

Samantha from Sunkissed Studio is a lady with more than one creative talents. A while back she launched a lovilee business, Sunkissed Handmade, with the cutest floral crowns and various other accessories for little people that could be used for photoshoots or just some gorgeous spoiling.

How did your business start?
As a professional photographer with a background in fashion design, it made perfect sense to create my own photo props and accessories for my creative shoots. Only when other photographers started asking if they could order my crowns and head dresses for shoots did I begin a Facebook page and started making custom designs. From there my brides asked me to make flower crowns for their wedding day, I loved the crowns I made so much that I ended up making an extra one for me each time and then I had some stock. So I started selling at markets and opened an on-line store. I have been making crowns for years but only in the last month have I really marketed it as a business.

I am passionate about art and making the world (even just my own world) a more beautiful place.

Do you do custom products as well?
Yes I love doing custom orders and helping other creatives fulfill their vision for their photo shoot and seeing brides glow on their wedding days with a flower crown adorning their hair.

Where can they purchase your items from?
You can order directly from me via my email address: crowns@sunkissedstudio.co.za or you can browse my Hello Pretty on-line store. The crowns are also currently stocked at SOET Emporium, Durbanville, CapeTown as part of Little Miss Daizys Princess Couture Range.

When you are so consumed by a new project that you don’t even have time to photograph your own lookbook professionally and your dear, talented friend offers to photograph your product for you on some pretty little models, you would be a fool to say no. I am no fool, I know all about over-commiting. So I would like to thank Colette from Flash of Madness for taking these darling photos for me to use for my marketing! As a photographer myself I know what goes into a shoot like this and I am so incredibly grateful to have a talented friend like Colette take some beautiful images for me.
