When a little bunny turns two…

I had to really contain myself last year by not throwing the princess a bunny party, but this year it wall all about a vintage bunny party. (The her first party a unicorn party here) I managed to get the princess to fall just as in love with bunnies as I am by decorating her room with bunnies and obviously exposing her to all of the decorative bunnies inside our home.

The vintage bunny stationery

I started off trying to design the bunny party stationery myself but soon realised that it was a tad more difficult to do than I thought, so friendy Liezel from Match Set Love created the stationery for me. She did such a great job and made some posters, food cards and the invitation. Good news is that you can actually purchase the stationery and print at home from her Etsy party printable store. Kids party food ideas

Last week I shared this recipe on how to make mini carrots, but there are so many other great ideas that you use. For a bunny party mini marshmallows make pretty bunny tails. Yolandi from A Zesty Life made us some delicious cake pops. Using ‘bunny food’ like actual mini carrots and other vegetables are a great way to get your kids to eat healthy. The Fruit skewers were also a hit! My mother in law made some really cute and delicious bunny cookies.

Ankie from The Wooden Spoon Kitchen was kind enough to make some mini waffles that the kids LOVED! The Mini Carrot bowls are from Miniso, and I filled them will all sorts of treats for the kids to decorate their waffles with.

They did not even miss that they did not eat the actual birthday cake. The Birthday cake was a chocolate and coffee cake (see the recipe here) that only the adults had. Mommy also made the topper this year and I tried my hand at some naked icing on the cake, but used Woolworths’ Vanilla Bean icing which is sooooooo YUM!

I purchased some pretty vintage looking suckers from Checkers that tied in perfectly to the theme.

For the drinks I used some of Woolworths‘ non-alcoholic champagne alternative and then added some pink candy floss to the top of the champagne glasses to make them look pretty awesome.

Vintage Bunny Party Decor

The decor was quite understated, I borrowed two gold vintage frames from Carla at Moi Decor Hire for the posters and used lace table cloths to create to match the look. I then added some of my own decorative bunnies from my collection.

The bunny plates and carrot serviettes were ordered from Superbalist.com.

The bunny outfits

Every year I rather give the little ones a present to take home that they can use again instead of sending them home with more sweets. This time round I made each of the girls that attended this special day a ‘bunnies’ t-shirt and my mom made the cutest tutus to match.

As a present for the princess, we all grouped together to buy her a mini scandi kitchen from Lil Peanut which she absolutely LOOOOOVES playing with.
