If you have never before heard about Macaroon, you have really been missing out. Their personalised stationary, invitations and other lovilee items are enough to keep you swooning over for days. They recently had a re-launch of their store in Jo’burg and have a brand new range of products available in their on-line store. Photographer, Lauren Kim paid them a visit and took these amazing images!
Q: How was Macaroon started?
Macaroon was born from the desire to merge the traditional values of letter writing and gift giving, with the latest in modern technology. Creatives, Cheryl Liebenberg and Taryn Hompes – had long dreamt of building a brand of our own, which married our skill-sets and brought something fresh and exciting to the market.
“We see stationery as an extension of your personal style and personal brand. A beautiful invitation creates the first impression and sets the tone for the perfect celebration. A personally wrapped gift shows care and love in its giving. A thank you note scribed on personalised stationery is stylish and intimate. Through our gorgeous range of bespoke social stationery, Macaroon allows our clients to define their personal brand and to create the perfect first impression.”
Q: What makes Macaroon different from its competitors?
It is Macaroon’s innovative and advanced technology that clearly distinguishes us from competitors in the local market. Macaroon has developed our own bespoke technology to support our advanced web requirements. Under our hood, the Cambrient Content Suite – South Africa’s #1 Homegrown Content Management and Web Development Platform – drives our web system, allowing us to easily maintain our web content and e-commerce platform.
Macaroon has made web integration a top priority – allowing our users full integration with their Facebook and Twitter profiles when using Macaroon on-line. This feature means that our clients’ Facebook albums are highly accessible when personalising their Macaroon products; and that their personalised social stationery can be published for wider consumption. Better still, if you want to surprise a friend with a Macaroon gift and are permitted to view their Facebook albums, this integration allows you to use their photos when customising your gift to them.
Macaroon recently teamed up with designer, Tracy Paul, with a range of very stylish and elegant stationary. it includes a range of notebooks, gift tags, tote bags and posters to name a few. A big thanks to Macaroon for spoiling me with a set!
