High tea at Rosemary Hill

We were privileged to attend a high-tea session at Rosemary Hill, Pretoria, and my was this a lot of fun and a truly lovilee experience. Definitely doing it again some time! I was joined by my mom, Marinda May, her mother-in-law, Nadia from Creative Heroes and her {almost} mother-in-law as well as Genevieve from Genevieve Fundaro Fine Art Photography.

“Rosemary Hill is one of the very few establishments in South Africa that offer an authentic Morning or Afternoon Tea (or High Tea) experience. Rather than providing a buffet and expecting guests to help themselves, our teatime treats are freshly prepared for your enjoyment and presented on elevated tiers with beautiful freshly picked herbs and flowers from our gardens.” – Rosemary Hill

As we arrived we were welcomed by the friendly staff from Rosemary Hill and escorted to our table at ‘Louries’ Lair’. The ceiling was decorated with rows and rows of bunting and the walls with hearts of various sizes. I am sure that even the Queen would’ve approved the lovilee table. {PS: I could choose the table linen beforehand on email!}.

…and then there was the hats, and hats, and hats for us to choose from. We had so much fun trying on the various hats, my head being too big for most of them! Don’t we look too fab?!

First we were offered some apple juice, followed by a choice of champagne or Gluhwein, thereafter we were spoilt with some salty treats, again followed by something sweet. And were these treats lovilee, both in taste and in appearance!

Now, the tea tasting was something that I’d never before experienced. I was totally amazed at the different teas that they had to offer and could not quite make up my mind which ones to choose after smelling the options on offer. Fortunately it was narrowed down somewhat, as I eliminated everything with cinnamon and ginger {2 spices that does not quite do it for me}.

Somewhere in between we had this amazing crème brulee, if there were more I would’ve had it all!

All in all, I would say, a worth-while and fun experience! Thanks so much to the lovilees who attended!
