Salvador Dahlia – Surreal floristry with surreal branding elements

Anja and Monette are the creatives girl bosses behind a startup called Salvador Dahlia a business that’s aim are to bring you Surreal Floral Artistry for your special day or even other celebrations in and around the Gauteng province. They were one of the winners of lovilee’s 10 year anniversary giveaways earlier this year. In the biggest giveaway to date, I teamed up with Colleen from Lieflingkind Design to gift a lovilee business the chance to win a rebrand and marketing exposure for their brand – Salvador Dahlia was one of the lucky winners. They are literally launching their new brand and website www.salvadordahlia.co.za later this week!

The branding process

Colleen from Lieflingkind sent Anja and Monette a branding guide to fill out so that she could find out more about their brand, their likes and preferences. She was able to create something most beautiful and perfectly in line with what they had envisioned (just like she did with my lovilee branding). I just love the end result!

The origins of Salvador Dahlia

Anja grew up on a farm and was introduced to flowers from a young age by her mom – a textile artist. She has a love for all things art, flowers, decor and (love) stories. Anja met Monette through her sister, a chef at The Stone Cellar wedding and function venue just outside Heidelberg in Gauteng, where Monette is one the co-owners.

Monette is a creative at heart that has a corporate background in Legal which she happily left behind to pursue her creative passion. She has been in the floral industry for 7 years, with both her grandmother and mom being freelance wedding florists. They think that it is their shared love for left-over wedding cake for breakfast that brought them together.

“Beautiful wedding flowers and decor should be accessible” – that is what these lovilees aim to assist their clients with. Bridal couples should not feel intimidated by the process of finding a really good, creative, unique wedding florist. They want to not only create every bridal couple’s floral dreams but to add to it uniqueness and to exceed their expectations, knowing that they can leave every detail up to this special team to execute.

Based on these beautiful images of a recent styled shoot they did entitles ‘Frida in the Forest’, I reckon they have the proof to do just that!

Setting Eco-floristry as the heart of the business

Anything that benefits the environment benefits all of us, choosing products that fit this goal without compromising on quality. Being purposefully pedantic about the items used to create these masterpieces and paying attention to even the tiniest of details.

The bigger picture

Salvador Dahlia is there to deliver the wow-factor if you are a couple that is looking to bring a piece of floral art to the party on your special day they can make it happen!

Why the name – Salvador Dahlia?

We love the dahlia flower, as it is a really beautiful flower and the creative talent Salvador Dali, a Spanish artist with his famous moustache. They decided to fuse these concepts into creating the Salvador Dahlia brand.
