This styled session was inspired by the cool, soft tones of the Pantone colours of the year, rose quartz and serenity. These colors, called for an understated, elegant choice of venue Lace on Timber in Pretoria. The French Industrial character of the venue suited the theme perfectly.
Subtle pairing of the rose quartz and serenity colors were done in an agate design for the stationery by E-design, while the touch of gold complimented the table décor beautifully.
The actual stone (rose quartz) inspired us to do a literal take on the theme, so we tried to incorporate it by using actual stone among flowers and as place card holders and décor accents. Flowers were kept to the minimum. Lace and Whimsy used soft pink roses, pink veronicas, soft mauve chrysanthemums and powdery blue delphiniums with greenery like sea holly and eucalyptus emphasized with a sprinkling of bespoke crepe paper flowers in blue, pink and grey by Luna artistry.
Unusual décor elements in our table setting, styled by Lace and Whimsy, like the Perspex cutlery in a vintage design, pink wine glasses, lace table runners, antique gold under plates, dusty pink napkins and Himalayan salt under a cake pop in a soft blue, tied all elements together to create a serene backdrop for our photo session.
The beauty of the tiffany chairs were emphasized by large paper blooms from Luna Artistry and their crisp white look continued in a multitude of small white vases on the table as well as white candelabras, supplied by Pebble and Lace.
Our lovely model Larize wore a breathtaking, whimsical layered tulle and crochet lace wedding gown by Joss Bridal Wear. The dress Jocelyn created for this shoot is something that is very natural to her. The bodice has support, but is also unstructured and soft. The crochet on the bodice is very special as it’s a vintage piece. She also added in her own handmade crochet details. The skirt part is uneven pieces of soft veiling which have been layered.
This was complimented by two vastly different bridal bouquets, one a floral wreath, the other sporting a banksie protea as focal point and loads of eucalyptus. Larize also wore playful floral jewelry by Lace and Whimsy.
Luna artistry also created oversized bespoke crepe paper flowers used as a backdrop, in various shades of soft pink and smoky grey. Crepe paper pomanders covered in pink, cream, grey and blue roses generously framed the model in some of the shots. They also provided a fresh take on the traditional bridal bouquet.
Lynette van Zyl bridal hair and makeup so expertly did our model’s soft and romantic hair styling and make-up to compliment the crochet lace of the tulle wedding gown. The deconstructed French braid and side swept hair was spot-on and framed the models’ face beautifully. By using darker tones and full lashes, focus was placed on the eyes.
Miglio supplied the jewelry used to accessorize our model. By using different pieces, Yolandi van der Bijl, stylist for Miglio, created different style personalities: modern, classic, romantic, and a bit more dramatic by using a variety of different materials: pearls, beautiful Swarovski crystals, and rose quartz.
