This & That

Attending the Sanlam HmC 2017

I know that the Sanlam HmC 2017 was over a week ago, but I still wanted to tell you what an awesome experience this was. Way back in 2014 Carike Ridout and I attended the Sanlam HMC as well and again this show did not disappoint. 14 500 visitors flooded the rooftop of Hyde Park Corner from the 13 to 15 October as it once again transformed into a carefully curated expanse of food, wine and design.

This Johannesburg event is the perfect fusion between great food and lovilee design. I love that there was such a variety in the stalls from clothing to furniture to decor to eats and treats and more.

Some of my favourite exhibitors at the Sanlam HmC 2017

Elsje Designs
The Elsje Design Studio is based in the heart of Stellenbosch. This lady always amazes me with her items (see the Christmas shoot we did with her goods a few years back). Her himmelis and wreaths are some of my favourites and I also bought 3 lovilee poster sets from her that I shared over on Instagram. How awesome is the one of a kind cactus chair that she had at her stall?!

Louw Roets
I finally got to meet Louw in real life, he is a phenomenal designer, with an eye for detail, out of the box design and his chairs are totally the most comfy to sit on! His products include seating, storage, lighting and tables to name but a few and everything is totally lovilee!

Saks Corner
I definitely need to update their post on lovilee as these local designers are now producing their own, unique range of retro inspired furniture items. Their coffee tables and television units with geo inspired patterns were my favourite items at their stand. Not to mention their lovilee metallic trays.

Fehmz Mocktails
What is a mocktail you ask? It is simply a cocktail without alcohol. I discovered Fehmz Mocktails at the Sanlam HMC 2017 and they really make deliciously pretty mocktails. My favourite flavour was the Watermelon Fizz ‘pink drink’, whilst the Litchi Fizz flavour had Carike’s vote. Other flavours in the range include: Strawberry Spritzer, Lemon Lime, Lemongrass Ginger, Fireball and Peach Lemonade. A delicioius treat for any member of the family.

La Fede
I featured a stunning cotton field shoot not so long ago with some of the goodies from La Fede.

Father Coffee
It has become tradition that I grab myself a cup of Father coffee when I get to the event. LOVE their stand and coffee and milk jugs!!! These lovilees have two physical coffee stores that you can visit all year round. One in Braamfonteina and the other in Rosebank. Not only do they sell fresh brews, but also some other interesting products.
