Big boy car bedroom

When I was asked to do the Gumtree #autocycle challenge I thought it would be a good opportunity to re-do little manny’s room before his baby sister arrives. He originally had mountains on the one wall that I painted before we moved in that I wanted to keep. But this 4 year old instructed the painter to paint over them as it was not part of the ‘car bedroom’ he had in mind.

You can read the full article on the Gumtree #autocycle challenge here as well as the DIY instructions on how I created the headboard. The arrow above the bed was from @home a while ago.

Instead of the original mountains I cut some car track vinyl that I added to his wall behind his bookshelf.

The carpet is from H&M home and was a great find. He has spent hours playing on it. The toy truck is from Melissa & Doug.

All of the frames in the room were purchased from Mr Price Home and the picture ledge from Simply Home. The ‘Be Yourself’ poster is from Mini Learners on Etsy.com (affiliate link) and the two other artworks manny created himself. One of me and one of his dad. I also added a bicycle basket from Linden Cycles to a towel rail that is now used as a toy storage basket.

How cute are these puppy tail wall hooks that I purchased from Ikea a few year ago? Also available from Nevada Furniture locally.

As a DIY I stuck a toy car to his light switch with double sided tape.
