Easy homemade playdough that smells pretty

Homemade playdough is a must for every childhood. Who remembers rolling snakes, making animals and punching shapes out after rolling the play dough like a high end pastry chef? But what is the easiest way to make playdough at home? Some of the recipes involves cooking the dough on the stove, but today we share a 2 minute microwave playdough recipe.

Instead of running to the shops to purchase some playdough why not follow this easy scented playdough recipe below – make your own batch at home for your kids and color it any way you like using food coloring. Here we add scents to the DIY playdough which is a great way to add another sense to child play. Scents can also help with a child’s behavior while playing, for example lavender essential oil has calming properties which can help your child if they are having a tough day.

Ingredients

 1 cup Flour
 1 cup Water
 2 tsp Cream of Tartar
 ½ cup Salt
 1 tbsp Oil
 Food Colouring of your choice
 Essential Oil of your choice

Method

1

Mix the water and a few drops of food colouring together.

Add oil and mix well.

Add the flour, creme of tartar and salt. Mix well.

4

Microwave for 2 minutes - mixing every 30 seconds.

Knead a few drops of essential oil into the mixture.
