My take on Protea wedding decor

I have fallen head over heels with proteas again. My friendy Liezel from Match Set Love that now resides in Holland used to have these beauties in her home and ever since she left South Africa they just remind me of her. They also off-course last quite long inside the home. I recently posted an image of my white paint-dipped proteas from Mini’s Flowers, a local Linden retailer on Instagram as well. These are now a permanent feature in my lounge.

Today I get to share my take on Protea Wedding decor inspiration. Proteas at weddings are not only used in bouquets and table arrangements, but also inspires many a stationary design and even the favours. These days ones can get proteas made out of beads, ceramic, wood and wire. Have you had a peep at Harmonie Proteas as a wedding venue? We have featured an e-shoot that was taken there in this link.

Protea wedding stationary
Colleen from Lieflingkind Design designed this stationary for a lovilee couple. Proteas can be printed on, laser cut out of or even engraved onto something to draw attention to your special day.

Protea wedding dress
When Natalie from Sugar & Vice tied the knot she opted to wear a stunner of a dress that had proteas embroidered on the top. The actual dress was made by Anje Bridal Couture and Hand Embroidered by Natalies’ sister & mother in law.

Protea wedding accessories
There are so many nice protea wedding accessories that are available. They range from earrings to necklaces, to brooches and rings. I stumbled across these lovilee Sterling silver cuff-links on Hello Pretty that are available in oxydized or un-oxidized versions.

Protea wedding decor
We featured a really stunning wedding filled with white proteas a while ago, they used proteas in a hanging bouquet and also arranged them on the bridal table cutting their stems very short. See the full wedding and some more protea wedding decor inspiration here.

In Natalie’s case they opted to keep the proteas stems a bit longer, and put them in various size and colour bottles one in each. It made for an interesting colour combination but was simply gorgeous as well. There was also a flower arch with some proteas in as well as one King protea in her bouquet.

A great idea for a beach wedding is also to ‘plant’ some proteas in the sand to serve as isle markers for the bride to walk down to. See the full wedding of Marinday May here.

Protea wedding favours
Sugar & Vice is a re-seller of some really pretty protea coasters that make for lovilee wedding favours for guests. View their full range of protea products in this link.
